winborderstrip

Windows border stripper is a program I designed to ease use of dual monitors while playing games. The idea is to run the games in "window" mode if available, but then to strip their borders so that they still appear to be running fullscreen. This provides the immersive gaming experience on one monitor, while allowing you to move your mouse off to the other monitor without minimizing your game. Specifically I wrote this program to use with Counter Strike Source by Valve, but it has come in useful a couple of other places as well.

Main program window:

This is a screen shot of both my desktops spanning two monitors with counterstrike running in windowed mode at my desktop resolution. Notice the pesky border at the top which also causes part of the game window to run of the side and bottom of my desktop.

In this screenshot I have used winborderstrip to remove the border and put my game window at 0,0, thus making it appear like it would in fullscreen mode. However, I can still move my mouse to the left monitor without minimizing counterstrike. Yay.
